Full-Time in Bar Harbor, ME - Atlantic Oceanside Hotel Full-Time, Year Round, Benefits Eligible

The 153 room Atlantic Oceanside Hotel with 10,000 sq. ft. of meeting space is seeking an experienced hospitality professional to join our team as Group Sales Manager. Great attention to detail, excellent communication and negotiation skills are necessary to demonstrate our unwavering commitment to excellence. This person must display an in-depth understanding and competence in sales, account management functions and the hotel travel industry. Responsibilities include selling guest room and other hotel services to the group market through corporate accounts, motorcoach operators, associations and travel agencies. Duties include managing current accounts, as well as qualifying and finding new accounts.

**Skill Requirements**

* Well-organized, detail oriented with excellent follow-up

* Exceptional relationship building skills and negotiation and closing skills

* Ability to work independently (time-management and organization skills)

* Dynamic public speaking and presentation skills

* Strong computer skills must include: PowerPoint, MS Outlook, Excel and Word

* Advanced knowledge of sales/hospitality principles and practices

* Must possess professional communication skills

* Results oriented with an emphasis on both individual and team accountability

* Ability to negotiate, convince and influence professionals

**Duties and Responsibilities**

* Conducts property site inspections

* Welcomes group clients to property upon arrival

* Discover and book group business from area corporate accounts

* Makes sales appointments and cold calls to prospect accounts

* Receives and promptly replies to all leads, via telephone, email and in-person group inquiries

* Prepares detailed quotes for group clients, negotiates and finalizes contracts for lodging and events

* Minimum expectation of Monday-Friday 8am 5pm. Must be available after hours and on weekends for site inspections, to welcome arriving clients and to attend networking events

* Prepares and maintains clear communication with all hotel departments regarding group deposit, cancellation and reservation requirements; arrival and departure information; and group event timing and details

* Participates and is involved in State of Maine travel organizations and local community organizations for networking

**Experience**

Minimum 2 years of Group Sales Experience in a full service hotel highly preferred

**Salary**

Starting at $52,000
