Highlight Health is a small, fast-growing startup with offices in Center City Philadelphia, PA, Newark, NJ, and Champaign-Urbana, IL. We’re on a mission to fight against high-cost hospital bills and make healthcare more transparent and fairer to everyone. We use data-driven methods and innovative technology to identify and eliminate fraud, waste, abuse, and overpricing in the healthcare industry.   

We will count on you to 

Integrate/develop automated and on-demand APIs for healthcare data. 

Work with various data connections, including API, SFTP, and flat files.  

Perform quality checks on incoming healthcare data for accuracy and completeness. 

Troubleshoot and resolve data related issues. 

Devise strategies to work around data limitations and security needs. 

Help in building repeatable methodologies. 

Requirements

Experience with API integration/development. 

Knowing at least one of the following software tools: SQL (any version, including Proc SQL of SAS), R Studio, or Python. 

Bonus points if you have 

Experience in EDI mappings, reading and creating X12s (Healthcare Claim 837).  

Experience working with and within large databases within in a HIPAA-compliant environment. 

Worked in an environment that values high-quality, well-documented work. 

Experience with two or more of the above software tools. 

Medical knowledge.

Worked in a small company or department where you or your team had diverse data responsibilities.

Compensation 

$30+ per hour, depending on experience.
