Medical assisting duties include patient triage, vital signs, patient history, procedure, test and appointment scheduling

Responsibilities:
• Obtains medical history, triage patients, record vitals.
• Obtains patient medication list.
• Responds timely phone calls and inquiries.
• Surgery and test scheduling.
• Responsible for paging out prescription requests to physician extender as needed.
• Reports any abnormal results to physician immediately (i.e. xray, labs, etc.)
• Maintains clean exam rooms.
• Complies with HIPAA privacy and security requirements to maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
• Adheres to organizational policy and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned by manager.

Qualifications:
• High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)
• Minimum two years of working in a medical facility/practice as a medical assistant
• CCMA, CMA, CNA or RMA certification preferred or willingness to obtain certification through proctored exam provided after 90 days of permanent full-time employment.

• Ability to learn and retain information regarding patient care procedures.

• Ability to plan, prioritize, and complete delegated tasks.
• Ability to demonstrate compassion and caring dealing with others.
