Overview:We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented individual to join our accounting team as an Accounting Clerk. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting various accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and financial reporting. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in accounting principles and procedures.

Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable: Process vendor invoices, match purchase orders to invoices, obtain proper authorization for payments, and ensure timely and accurate payment processing. Maintain vendor records, reconcile statements, and resolve discrepancies.

Accounts Receivable: Generate customer invoices, record sales transactions, apply payments to customer accounts, and follow up on overdue accounts. Maintain accurate customer records, reconcile accounts, and resolve billing issues.

General Ledger Entries: Assist with journal entry preparation and posting, including accruals, prepayments, and other month-end adjustments. Maintain organized and accurate records of financial transactions.

Bank Reconciliation: Assist with bank reconciliations by verifying and reconciling bank statements to general ledger accounts, identifying discrepancies, and resolving outstanding items.

Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and analyses, providing support for management decision-making and regulatory compliance.

Expense Reimbursements: Process employee expense reports, verify expense receipts, ensure compliance with company policies, and facilitate timely reimbursement to employees.

Recordkeeping: Maintain organized and up-to-date filing systems for accounting documents, including invoices, receipts, journal entries, and financial reports.

Data Entry: Accurately enter financial data into accounting software or spreadsheets, ensuring completeness and accuracy of records.

Assistance: Provide support to the accounting team as needed, including assisting with audits, special projects, and other ad hoc tasks.

Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting principles, internal controls, and regulatory requirements in all accounting activities.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree or coursework in accounting or related field preferred.

1-2 years of experience in an accounting or finance role preferred.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) preferred.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping.

Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively within a team.

Basic understanding of accounting principles and procedures.

Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
