As a Staff Accountant, you will assist the Controller in various aspects of accounting and reporting. Responsibilities include financial, analytical, statistical, and technical accounting tasks applying generally accepted accounting procedures and practices.

Responsibilities:
+                  Complete all bank reconciliations and monitor SMBC account balances.

+                  Bank correspondence.

+                  Follow-up on bank errors, NSF checks, discrepancies, and unreconciled items on bank statement.

+                  Review A/P Checks weekly.

+                  Reconciliation of major and minor general ledger accounts.

+                  Journal entry preparation and input.

+                  Various monthly journal entries for financial statement reporting.

+                  Serve as a backup support to other department functions.

+                  Provide backup in the Accounts payable invoice validation process.

+                  Create Ringi’s as required/necessary.

+                  Maintain company contracts in accordance with company policies and procedures.

+                  Support external audit requirements.

+                  Ensure proper control of expenses by performing monthly analysis compared to budget and prior month trend.

+                  Calculate and report all tax filings.

+                  Assist in month end closing activities including journal entries and review of financial statements.

+                  Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliation.

Qualifications:
+                  AA degree in accounting.

+                  1-3 years related accounting experience preferably in corporate atmosphere.

+                  Working knowledge of Eautomate highly recommended.

+                  Excel spreadsheet, Microsoft Word, PC experience.

+                  Administrative capabilities.
