With over 60 years of history and a growing DC office, they are expanding their estimating team due to increased bidding activity. As an Estimator, you'll be a key part of a collaborative preconstruction team, working closely with the Chief Estimator and two other estimators. You'll be responsible for preparing competitive bids and supporting the team through all phases of the estimating process.Job DescriptionThw Estimator - K-12/Public Projects - DC Metro will:Prepare detailed cost estimates for public sector projects up to $30MAnalyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare bid packagesCollaborate with project managers and superintendents to ensure accurate scope coverageSolicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotesParticipate in bid strategy meetings and presentationsMaintain and update historical cost data and estimating toolsAssist in value engineering and cost-saving initiativesSupport the Chief Estimator in training junior staff as needed MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
