What you'll do

  • Perform thorough cleaning of designated areas, including church sanctuary, Family Life Center, kitchens, gymnasium, offices, restrooms, break rooms, and common spaces.
  • Execute floor care tasks such as sweeping, mopping, buffing, and waxing to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
  • Handle commercial cleaning duties with efficiency and precision, ensuring all surfaces are sanitized and well-kept.
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify maintenance needs and report any issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with the facilities maintenance team to support overall building upkeep.
  • Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring everything is stocked and ready for use.
  • Set up rooms and assist with the movement of furniture or equipment when necessary.
  • Be available as a facilities liaison for Family Life Center tenants, special events and staff
  • Open and/or close facilities based on scheduled working hours, including gates and doors
  • Perform minor repairs, including but not limited to, masonry, electrical systems, plumbing, including immediate temporary repairs in emergencies
  • Ensure maintenance of grounds, including but not limited to, maintaining parking areas, garbage cans and walkways
  • Perform other tasks as needed

Basic qualifications

  • Previous janitorial or facilities maintenance experience is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques and safety protocols.
  • Ability to operate floor care equipment such as buffers and vacuums effectively.
  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have a proven ability to work effectively with diverse individuals
  • Must be able to work independently and be self-motivated
