Overview:

The Facilities Services Technician I plays a key role in ensuring that all buildings and grounds are safe, functional, and well-maintained. This position is ideal for a proactive and hands-on professional who takes pride in creating clean, comfortable, and welcoming environments. Working under the guidance of the Facilities Services Supervisor and Director, you'll perform a variety of maintenance, repair, and inspection tasks across multiple building systems while contributing to a culture of service excellence and teamwork

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on facilities and equipment.
  • Participate in training programs for professional development.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure safety and compliance standards.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve maintenance goals.
  • Assist in the setup and breakdown of facilities for events.
  • Document maintenance activities and report on progress.
  • Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment.
  • Assist in developing maintenance schedules and plans.
  • Implement energy-saving measures and sustainability practices.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of maintenance areas.

Experience/Qualifications

  • Proven experience in facilities maintenance and repair work.
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing training and professional development.
  • Ability to conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance standards.
  • Self-motivated with a focus on achieving individual performance targets.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to address maintenance requests promptly.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Experience in maintaining inventory of supplies and equipment.
  • Strong organizational skills for maintaining cleanliness in work areas.
  • Knowledge of energy-saving measures and sustainability practices.
  • Capacity to document maintenance activities accurately and efficiently.

What you must have:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2–4 years of experience in facilities maintenance or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, spa/pool systems, fire alarms, and related equipment.
