The Facility and Grounds Technician is responsible for the maintenance of multiple Gold Flora facilities across California. Key duties include cleaning, organizing, repairing, servicing, and installing a variety of mechanical systems. This role also involves providing access to vendors and visitors by monitoring and opening facility gates. Occasional travel to offsite locations is required. The technician will take direction from the Director of Facilities, Chief Compliance Officer, and/or designated facility manager(s) at their assigned location(s).

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections of facility equipment and systems to identify potential issues and ensure proper functioning.
  • Assist with HVAC, plumbing, and electrical maintenance under supervision or as qualified.
  • Maintain landscaping, including trimming, planting, and general outdoor upkeep.
  • Respond to facility maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assist with the setup and teardown of equipment or spaces for special projects or events.
  • Safely operate tools, machinery, and vehicles necessary for maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Provide access and support to vendors and contractors performing onsite work.
  • Cleaning and maintenance of the facility grounds as needed, including bathrooms, recycling and trash removal.
  • Repair irrigation and mechanical systems required for an indoor agricultural facility.
  • Loading and unloading of deliveries as needed.
  • Perform basic repairs and improvements at company retail locations, including general maintenance tasks
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Facility or similar experience such as Irrigation, Plumbing and general construction.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must be Forklift certified or be willing to be certified
  • Must be familiar with legal and company regulations for the industry
  • Supports and embodies Gold Flora core values.

Work Environment

  • Operations: This position will work in an indoor manufacturing facility with controlled temperatures; may be exposed to bright lighting, loud equipment, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and working in close proximity with staff and vendors along with working outside.
  • Janitorial: This position will work in an indoor warehouse facility with varying temperatures; may be exposed to bright lighting, loud equipment, airborne particles, and working in proximity with customers and staff.
  • Frequent travel is required to other Gold Flora facilities, especially during peak times.

Job Requirements

  • Work revolves around objectives, projects, and priorities, not hours; must be able to work weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime as needed.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, lift, sit, and bend for a majority of their work schedule.
  • Must be able to travel to other office locations.
  • Ability to use a computer for 8 hours or more.
  • Selected candidates will be required to complete a post offer, pre-employment background check with the local law enforcement or City Police Department.
