Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable Specialist

Duties

- Process and post customer payments to accounts receivable system

- Prepare and send out customer invoices and statements

- Monitor customer accounts for overdue payments and follow up with customers as needed

- Perform credit analysis on new and existing customers to determine credit limits and terms

- Reconcile customer accounts and resolve any discrepancies or issues

- Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts receivable

- Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions and customer interactions

Requirements

- Proven experience as an Accounts Receivable Clerk or in a similar role

- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices

  • Knowledge of Waste & Recycling Industry preferred
  • Proficiency in using accounting software such as Sage, PeopleSoft, or similar systems
  • Familiarity with governmental accounting regulations (e.g., SOX compliance)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with professional phone etiquette
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Experience in medical billing or corporate accounting is a plus
