About Newton Street

At Newton Street, our mission is to connect people and ideas that change the world.

We are a women-led strategic communications firm advising global health organizations, philanthropies, high-profile individuals, family offices, for-profit companies, and social impact organizations tackling the most complex issues of our time.

We help our partners shape narratives, elevate ideas, and spark action that drives meaningful change on a global scale.

Our team is collaborative and values-driven, guided by integrity, kindness, curiosity, and a commitment to excellence.

Role Snapshot – Work with Great People & Contribute to Positive Change

We're seeking an account manager with a deep background in strategic communications—not marketing, advertising, or sales. The right candidate thrives at the intersection of strategy, storytelling, and relationship-building within the social impact space. You'll work directly with our founders and senior strategists to guide communications programs for organizations leading change in global health, women's health, climate, and economic opportunity.

This role is ideal for someone who wants to use their communications expertise to make an impact on the world.

What You'll Do

  • Build and nurture long-term, trusted relationships with mission-driven clients.
  • Lead day-to-day client communications and ensure delivery of top-tier strategic communications counsel.
  • Develop and implement creative, high-impact communications strategies and narratives.
  • Drive media engagement—from message development and media training to story pitching and relationship-building with top-tier global outlets.
  • Write and edit compelling content: articles, speeches, social media posts, op-eds, case studies, donor materials, communications strategies, media plans, and more.
  • Collaborate across teams to ensure we meet (and exceed) client expectations.
  • Contribute ideas, insights, and approaches that help shape the future of our firm and the impact of our clients.

Client Sectors You Could Support

  • Global Health
  • Women's Health
  • Climate, Environment, and Agricultural Development
  • Economic Opportunity
  • Philanthropy & Social Impact

What You'll Bring

  • 6–8 years of experience in public relations, communications, or strategic storytelling, ideally in an agency or nonprofit environment.
  • Expertise working across global or multicultural contexts, fluent in the nuances of social impact communications.
  • Confidence managing multiple projects and clients with calm under pressure.
  • Exceptional writing and storytelling skills — clear, persuasive, and purposeful.
  • Knowledge of one or more core issue areas: climate, global health, women's health, mental health, economic opportunity, or philanthropy.
  • Technologically fluent and proactive, with strong organizational and collaboration skills.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States.

Bonus Points

  • Experience leading account teams or mentoring junior colleagues.
  • Media relationships in global health, philanthropy, or policy journalism.
  • Crisis communications and reputation management experience.
  • Background in thought leadership and executive communications.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive salary ($95,000–$120,000)
  • Comprehensive benefits: medical, dental, vision, disability, accidental death & dismemberment insurance, and retirement plan
  • Generous paid time off and holidays — including a year-end paid break
  • Fully remote, U.S.-based work environment
  • A culture where your voice matters and your impact is visible

Equal Opportunity

Newton Street is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all team members.

Ready to Shape Change?

If you're passionate about using strategic communications to advance solutions for the world's biggest challenges, we'd love to hear from you.
