ABOUT US

Established in 1957, Willow Oaks is a member-owned country club located in the heart of Richmond on the banks of the picturesque James River. Athletic facilities include an 18-hole golf course with practice facilities; eight lighted outdoor & four indoor tennis courts; fitness facilities, Kid's Club area, a 6600 square-foot swimming pool and more. Dining facilities include a formal dining room & lounge; member grill & bar; banquet rooms; several private rooms in the historic main house plus a pool snack bar.

THE POSITION

Willow Oaks Country Club is looking to invite the right individual into our organization as the Youth Program Coordinator. This position requires someone with an infectiously positive attitude, strong creative thinking skills and finds sincere enjoyment in working with children and youths. Our Youth Program Coordinator provides valuable youth programs including youth camps and daily childcare. In addition, they oversee the department's hourly youth counselors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to,

  • Create and implement programming for youth, including tweens and teens.
  • Organize, supervise and actively participate in the successful production and delivery of youth programs including youth camps, daily childcare, and other special events that require youth counselors.
  • Maintain and organize supplies and equipment.
  • Hire, train, coach, evaluate and schedule youth staff.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing for all programs, activities and Kids' Club.
  • Collaborate with departments throughout the club in the planning of youth activities.
  • Assist in all youth and club wide events as needed, including Halloween, Breakfast with Santa, Easter, Memorial Day, Labor Day and July 4 festivities.
  • Assist in cross-training youth staff to work the pool desk.
  • Assist in the supervision of the pool desk.
  • Maintain records including member visits and member billing.
  • Complete any other task contributing to the success of the Youth and Aquatics Department
  • Provide support to the Director of Fitness

Hours are typically M-F 8am to 1pm. Hours are dependent on required events such as our summer teen pool party, gingerbread house decorating, Halloween event, etc.

Certifications:

Candidates MUST carry a Infant/Child First Aid, CPR and AED certifications.
