General Description:

The Circle Preschool Clinical Services Coordinator is responsible for the implementation, management and supervision of the clinical component of the program. The Clinical Services Coordinator is responsible for providing therapeutic services in the classroom setting, conducting assessments for children and families referred to program, coordination of the therapeutic services for children and caregivers, supervising staff and interns in relation to clinical aspects of therapeutic programming, and case coordination with other providers involved with the child and/or family. Other duties include consultation and case management services, completing necessary clinical records and conducting program evaluations, and research on clinical aspects of the program in coordination with CPP staff.

Qualifications:

Clinical Services Coordinator must possess a minimum of a Master's degree in social work or other related human service field, licensure required (e.g., LCSW, LPC) and play therapy experience preferred. The coordinator must have experience providing clinical supervision, direct clinical services to preschool aged children and to families, knowledge and experience in working with victims of trauma (including neglect, physical, sexual and emotional abuse and attachment disorders), expertise in the diagnosis and mental health treatment of young children and caregivers, understanding of multiculturalism, and collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams.

Major Responsibilities:

· Coordinate and complete the assessment of all children who are referred to program, determine appropriateness for program and make referrals as needed.

· Coordinate and provide therapeutic components of the program. To include:

o Support and provide clinical services in classrooms through trauma –informed milieu interventions, crisis support, and consultation regarding individualized clinical issues. Provide therapeutic interventions and strategies for classroom staff to assist children with trauma-based or other related behaviors secondary to the client's social and emotional functioning level

o Engage in consultation in partnership with the Program Director and Education Staff through providing input regarding clinical issues within the classroom. This will include provision of information regarding the contents and organization of the classroom environment as it reflects the clinical needs of the children in the classroom.

o Provide and maintain caseload for individual and family therapy for children and caregivers enrolled in programming

o Design and co-facilitate group psycho-educational therapy both in classrooms for children as well as monthly caregiver support meetings. Coordinate quarterly in person caregiver support on site meetings with multi-disciplinary team.

  • Provide case management services including supporting and advocating for caregivers and families through identified community supports as well as coordinating/collaborating with professionals within the Greater Richmond community
  • Maintain clinical records, documentation, progress reports and conference reports in a timely, well written and clinically sound manner.

· Co-facilitate along with CPP Early Childhood Director, multi-disciplinary team treatment meetings weekly.

· Oversee and/or provide training and supervision to staff and graduate intern(s) for the clinical components of the program.

· Coordination and collaboration with other preschool providers as needed.

· Assist with program development and program evaluation in coordination with the Program Director

· Coordinate clinical research evaluations, specific to the children and caregiver participants.

· Provide reports and clinical assessments as requested by collateral agencies.

  • Serve as liaison between Greater Richmond SCAN and Sprout Center Staff.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
