Volunteer: Program Development For Course Designed for Young African Entrepreneurs

This is a volunteer opportunity provided by Taproot Foundation, a nonprofit creating social change through pro bono connections.

We've developed the foundation for a Pitching Course designed for young African entrepreneurs to strengthen their ability to communicate their business ideas and secure funding. We're now looking for a skilled volunteer to help us complete and launch this program by supporting: Finalization of the course curriculum and learning modules Refinement of the pitch deck template and visual materials Development of a delivery strategy (online/offline formats, facilitation approach, assessment tools) Implementation planning, including roll-out to our YALDA branches and broader network We anticipate needing 3–5 hours per week of support for a few weeks, depending on your availability and input. We'll work collaboratively to co-create high-impact materials that are practical, engaging, and tailored to Africa's entrepreneurial landscape.

YALDA's mission is to empower African youth with the skills, networks, and opportunities they need to lead Africa's development. This Pitching Course is a cornerstone of our strategy to equip young entrepreneurs with the confidence and capacity to present their ideas, raise capital, and scale impactful ventures. By helping us complete and implement this course, you'll directly contribute to: Increasing access to entrepreneurship education for youth across Africa Strengthening business viability and investor readiness for young founders Enabling our network to create sustainable economic impact This project will help ensure that thousands of young entrepreneurs across the continent are not only building great ideas—but are also equipped to communicate those ideas with clarity and purpose to funders, partners, and global audiences.

We've already drafted the course outline, core content, and key messaging, and we have internal alignment from our Entrepreneurship and Innovation Team to prioritize this rollout. To support your work, we will provide: A draft course syllabus and sample lessons Our initial pitch deck materials Profiles of our target audience and feedback from pilot participants A point person from our leadership team to collaborate with you and implement your recommendations We've also successfully executed similar volunteer engagements and have a network of branches and facilitators ready to help deploy the final course across the continent.

Youth Alliance for Leadership and Development in Africa Mission: YALDA provides a forum for youth on the African continent and those abroad with a commitment to the welfare of Africa. By networking with professionals, mentors and each other, members will increase their capacity to take on positive leadership roles in their universities, countries and on the continent. Through YALDA, members will implement their short and long term visions for Africa.
