We are looking for a Payroll Specialist to join our exceptional Richmond Hill team

The Human Resources Payroll Specialist will administer and process biweekly/ monthly payroll and benefits. It will require working with Workday, our service provider, to resolve all issues. This position encompasses a variety of duties such as data entry, running reports, paychecks, and W-2 distribution. This position will require effective communication with internal team members and outside providers and keeping current on all Federal, State, and local payroll and benefit regulations.

Your contribution to the team includes:

Process bi-weekly and monthly employee payroll information, ensuring accurate and timely payments for salaried, hourly, and commission-based payments to employees for each payroll period.

Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports

Process expense reports and garnishments

Ad hoc, off-cycle processing as needed

Ensure status changes and audits of time records are accurate, and any discrepancies are addressed and resolved.

Respond to payroll and benefit-related questions, verifications of employment, and concerns of employees, researching records and involving other resources/staff as needed, responding in a timely manner.

Administration of the time-clocking system for hourly field employees.

Maintain 1099 data for contract employees.

Enter and audit all employee changes in the organization's HRIS timely and accurate.

Serve as the lead representative and liaison between HR, external vendors, plan administrators, and other stakeholders for efficient HRIS and people operations.

Collaborate with the HR Team to identify system improvements and implement solutions as necessary. Perform regular audits of HRIS systems.

Create and/or compile weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual analytics, data reports, summaries, and logs to present to executive management.

Adhere and contribute to HR standard operating procedures, following established company, local, state, and federal guidelines to ensure compliance.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Strong attention to detail, accuracy, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Knowledge of federal and state regulations.

Strong interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills with the ability to follow up in a timely manner.

Effective time management, organization skills, and extreme attention to detail.

Strong Computer skills, including proficiency in Excel.

Demonstrated strong work ethic and team player skills.

The high degree of professionalism and demonstrated business acumen.

Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material and handle deadline-pressure work activities.

Focused on providing excellent client service.

Career-minded rather than job-minded.

Working knowledge of Workday is highly desirable

Education/ Experience

Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field and/or equivalent experience.

Minimum of 2 years relevant experience across these core functions: payroll administration, preferably in high-growth organizations.

Physical/ Environmental Requirements

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times.
