Description
Scope
The Employee Engagement Specialist is responsible for supporting the organization's goals by performing a range of duties in the human resources department which support connection between our people and purpose.

Reporting Relationship
This position reports directly to the Employee Engagement Sr. Manager in the California and Arizona regions. This role will collaborate with human resources team members, executive leadership, and other employees to achieve their primary responsibilities and organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

Essential Responsibilities
Employee Experience and Culture

  • Help develop initiatives that strengthen company culture and values.
  • Directly and indirectly foster a sense of belonging and purpose among employees.
  • Support efforts to monitor and improve employee morale, recognition, and satisfaction.

Engagement Programs

  • Help administer engagement programs such as recognition, milestones, team-building, wellness, philanthropy/volunteerism, and social events.
  • Help administer employee surveys (pulse checks, engagement surveys), track participation, and prepare summary reports.
  • Support recognition programs to celebrate employee achievements, tenure anniversaries, and other milestones.
  • Support the education and engagement of other organizational resources such as mentorship, training, etc.

Communication & Feedback

  • Assist with drafting and distributing internal communications including newsletters, announcements, and intranet updates
  • Help celebrate milestones such as birthdays, work anniversaries, and promotions.
  • Assist with channels for employees to share their input, including stay-interviews, jobsite visits, etc.
  • In coordination with other human resources staff, support employee resource groups.

Corporate Social Responsibility

  • Supports efforts on volunteerism and days of service
  • Supports philanthropic efforts including giving campaigns, scholarship programs, and nonprofit support

Technical

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve basic technical issues.

  • Ability to maintain accurate records, documentation, and reporting as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, marketing, communications or related field preferred
  • 1+ years of relevant experience in human resources, communications, or employee engagement preferred
  • Passion for purpose-driven business, community involvement, and employee experiences
  • Knowledge of photography a plus

Physical Demands

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Occasional lifting of items up to 30 lbs.
  • Use of standard office equipment (computer, phone, copier, etc.).

Work Environment

  • Primarily an office-based role with a standard Monday–Friday schedule
  • This role will work out of our El Segundo or Irvine offices
  • May involve occasional travel to other offices, jobsites, or event venues
  • May involve working at an active construction site on select days
  • Typical indoor working conditions with standard lighting and ventilation
