About Us

Barton Watch Bands is a fast-growing e-commerce brand known for premium watch straps engineered for performance, style, and everyday durability. As we expand into wholesale and retail distribution, we're building a dedicated sales team to bring Barton products to jewelry stores, independent watch shops, outdoor outfitters, and major national retailers.

Role Overview

We're hiring a full-time Business Development Associate to own outbound sales, build long-term partnerships, and develop retail accounts across the U.S. This role is ideal for someone who is driven by results, excited about scaling a wholesale division, and comfortable selling into both small shops and large B2B channels like REI, Cabela's, Academy, or big-box buyers.

You will play a crucial role in growing Barton Watch Bands beyond direct-to-consumer into multi-channel retail. Secondary duties of this position will include attending events in the watch community and scaling growth through brand partnerships.

Responsibilities

  • Drive nationwide wholesale growth by identifying, pitching, and converting retail partners.
  • Build and manage a high-volume pipeline of jewelry stores, watch retailers, and national outdoor/apparel distributors.
  • Conduct structured outreach (calls, emails, trade shows, LinkedIn, networking).
  • Deliver clear product presentations, pricing guidance, and wholesale terms.
  • Collaborate with marketing, operations, and leadership to support new account setup and ongoing partnership success.
  • Monitor performance of accounts, drive reorders, and optimize sell-through.
  • Track KPIs, report weekly progress, and manage CRM data accurately.
  • Represent Barton at trade shows or industry events (occasional travel).
  • Create new revenue and reach by bringing in new brand partners.
  • Deepen and expand value from existing brand relationships.
  • Turn partnerships from 'one-off deals' into scalable growth engines.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in wholesale, B2B sales, or retail account management (preferably in consumer goods, accessories, watches, apparel, or related categories).
  • Proven track record of hitting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong presentation skills, negotiation ability, and comfort selling into both small and major retail accounts.
  • CRM experience (HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar).
  • Highly organized, proactive, and entrepreneurial.
  • Existing retailer or buyer relationships are a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive base salary + commission (~5% of sales; flexible based on experience).
