We are looking for a high energy, results driven Business Development Associate to join our team. This is a pivotal role focused on expanding our footprint within the self funded healthcare space and ensuring our existing partners receive world class service.
Job Summary
The Business Development Associate will be responsible for the full lifecycle of client engagement: from identifying and securing new partnerships with self funded plans, employers, TPAs, and conveners, to managing and growing existing accounts. You will "own" your relationships, serving as the primary point of contact to ensure client satisfaction and maximize the utilization of Assist Health services.
Core Functions
1. Strategic Growth and New Business Acquisition
- Identify and aggressively pursue new business opportunities within the self- funded health plan, employers, health-share, TPA, healthcare platforms and convener sectors.
- Effectively communicate the value proposition of Assist Health Group to decision makers to secure new service agreements.
- Act as a proactive "go getter" who is constantly making calls, networking, and building a pipeline of potential clients.
2. Account Management and Retention
- Service existing customers to maintain high levels of satisfaction and retention.
- Conduct regular review meetings (telephonic, web, or face to face) to analyze scheduling trends and financial data.
- Proactively consult with clients to encourage deeper integration with Assist Health products and services.
Essential Duties
- Manage the ongoing relationship with clients and brokers to support business development activities while upholding high service standards.
- Deliver and review performance reports with clients to demonstrate cost savings and efficiency.
- Oversee plan document completion, amendments, and restatements as required.
- Perform detailed analysis of financial trends on a group by group basis and provide actionable recommendations.
- Coordinate agent and broker interaction meetings to maintain visibility in the market.
- Assist with vendor setup and internal working groups for product development and infrastructure enhancement.
- Prepare and submit regular activity and pipeline reports to management.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Industry Expertise: Extensive experience in the healthcare setting specifically involving self funded plans, employers, Third Party Administrators (TPAs), Brokers, or PPO networks.
- Education: Bachelor's degree or a combination of equal relevant experience and education totaling 4 years.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to draft professional correspondence and present complex data clearly.
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of healthcare terminology, claims submission, and billing processes.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Travel: Ability to travel as needed.
