Spiro is hiring a Sr. Director, New Business Development to join our Sales team. Sr. Director, New Business Development works in partnership with the Sales department, delivering best-in-class service. The Sr. Director, Business Development works in partnership with other team members to deliver best-in-class service and is responsible for driving revenue by generating and securing opportunities/RFP's with brands who endeavor to engage their audience at tradeshows, live events and permanent installations.

The Sr. Director, New Business Development is a self-motivated "people connector" who thrives on establishing relationships, uncovering new business opportunities and proactively looks for ways to offer smart, unique, and innovative solutions to brands and companies. This position will support and be part of the North American New Business Development team in expanding growth for Spiro across B-2-B and B-2-C activations across multiple mediums, (virtual, hybrid and in-person). In this role, the individual will actively prospect new clients/logos through diversified prospecting techniques, leveraging insights from our Spiro client work, latest trends reports, and thought leadership content. We look for this individual to leverage their networking skills, outgoing nature, curiosity and any existing relationships to secure new clients and build business through industry expertise and consistently connecting with others in the business world.

Responsibilities

  • This critical role is responsible for initiating contact with potential and current customers to generate and qualify leads, promote Spiro's program exhibit management capabilities, and identify sales opportunities.
  • Responsible for prospecting a wide range of potential brands and companies across our breadth of brand experience services (B-2-B to B-2-C) using our extensive database and marketing resources
  • Seek and meet potential prospects by growing and leveraging your existing network.
  • Research and build relationships with new partners
  • Identify meaningful and relevant ways to connect with the companies and decision-makers on your prospect list
  • Cultivate and establish strong, trusted relationships with your prospects so you can fully understand their requirements and ideally look to influence their thinking at an early stage of their buying cycle
  • Develop a strong pipeline in Salesforce – managing the top part of the funnel to track the right number of RFPs to achieve our growth targets.
  • Attend prospecting and networking events as required to make sure you have a strong profile and presence in the relevant markets.
  • Lead the RFP Process for proposals that speak to your prospects' needs, objectives, and goals
  • Organize and plan your sales presentations and overall prospecting approaches, practicing and sharing techniques with the Team.
  • Work with Strategy and Insights to leverage macros trends, consumer behavior, and event insights in our key markets and knowledge of how they impact client objectives
  • Team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment and collaborates well with other internal team members from strategy, production, creative, and account management
  • Regularly review with your manager the key metrics needed to achieve success and be familiar with all the conversion rates and drivers of performance.
  • Proactively seek and share with the team new ideas, insights, recommendations, and additional tools needed to engage with new clients.
  • Identify opportunities for additional services and channels that will lead to an increase in sales.
  • Use knowledge of the market and our competitors to develop messaging describing our services differentiators.

  • 5+ years of experience working in a sales environment where you have generated results in building client base
  • Team player who is energized and inspired by team environments and understands the importance of relationship-building (internal and external)
  • Ability to effectively communicate with impeccable written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills and willingness to continue to improve speaking skills
  • Resourceful and highly motivated individual with the ability to work independently, think analytically and remain calm under pressure to meet established deadlines
  • Ability to quickly grasp concepts, operational practices, and business drivers
  • Proactive problem-solver who anticipates and addresses problems before they arise and works cross-departmentally to deliver holistic enablement content
  • Excellent time management, multi-tasking, and follow-through skills
  • Keen to constantly develop your sales skills and capabilities
  • Travel varies from 25% - 35%, depending on the month
  • Knowledge of Salesforce or using a CRM
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
