Job Title: Companion Staff – Weekend Support

Location: Jacksonville, FL

Schedule: Saturdays and Sundays

Employment Type: Part-Time

Position Overview:

We are seeking a caring and dependable Companion and/or Personal Support Staff member in Jacksonville, FL to support individuals with physical and/or intellectual disabilities by facilitating safe and engaging activities at home or in the community. This role is focused on helping the client participate in meaningful activities—such as in home chore duties, personal care, visiting parks, shopping, dining out, or attending community events—while offering support and encouragement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accompany and support the client at home or in community-based activities
  • Provide companionship/personal home support, motivation, and emotional support
  • Ensure the client's safety and comfort during outings
  • Encourage independence and social inclusion
  • Complete brief documentation after each shift as required

Requirements:

  • Must have a valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and full coverage auto insurance
  • Experience working with individuals with physical and/or intellectual disabilities is preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and a compassionate approach
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries and follow care plans
  • Must pass background screening and complete any required training

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with accessible and inclusive community resources in Jacksonville
  • Ability to adjust plans based on client preferences and energy levels
