Job Overview:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. This role is responsible for providing high-quality care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities and/or dementia. The successful candidate will be a vital member of our care team, assisting individuals with daily living tasks and promoting their overall health and well-being.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to residents with developmental disabilities, ensuring their needs are met and their dignity is respected.
  • Assist with daily living tasks, including personal care, meal preparation, and medication management.
  • Monitor and report any changes in the residents' conditions or behavior, ensuring prompt intervention and care.
  • Support residents in maintaining their independence and engaging in activities that promote their physical, emotional, and social well-being.
  • Assist with memory care activities and dementia-specific interventions to enhance the quality of life for residents with cognitive impairments.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized living environment, adhering to established protocols and guidelines.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, family members, and caregivers to ensure a comprehensive approach to care.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance knowledge and skills in patient care and dementia care.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and behaviors.
  • Certification in CPR/First Aid and Medication Administration Certification is REQUIRED.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with residents, family members, and colleagues.
  • Physical stamina to perform tasks that require standing, lifting, and bending.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • A commitment to delivering high-quality patient care and support.
