Overview

HR Generalist is a versatile HR professional responsible for handling a wide range of human resources functions within an organization. Their job typically includes both strategic and administrative tasks.

Duties

1. Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Coordinate hiring processes
  • Post job ads, screen resumes, conduct interviews
  • Manage onboarding and orientation

2. Employee Relations

  • Address employee concerns
  • Support conflict resolution and disciplinary actions
  • Promote a positive workplace culture

3. Benefits & Compensation

  • Administer employee benefits (health insurance, 401k, etc.)
  • Support payroll processing
  • Assist in salary benchmarking and compensation planning

4. Compliance & HR Policies

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws
  • Maintain employee records and HR documentation
  • Update HR policies and procedures

5. Training & Development

  • Coordinate training programs
  • Support performance management initiatives
  • Identify skill gaps and recommend learning solutions

6. HR Reporting & Metrics

  • Maintain HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems)
  • Prepare HR reports (turnover, absenteeism, etc.)
