This is a nationally recognized labor & employment law firm representing employers across industries. With a strong national platform and offices throughout the U.S., the firm advises on the full range of workplace issues, including employment litigation, traditional labor relations, wage & hour compliance, discrimination and harassment, workplace safety, trade secrets, and day-to-day HR counseling.

You will be working closely with a senior partner who has significant experience handling traditional labor law—such as collective bargaining, contract negotiations, and defending unfair labor practice (ULP) charges—as well as broad employment litigation and compliance counseling. This provides exposure to both classic labor matters and the full scope of employment disputes employers face.

Role Snapshot

This is a senior-level role for an attorney with extensive employment litigation experience, combined with some traditional labor law exposure. The position offers the chance to take a lead role in defending employers in complex litigation, advising on compliance and policies, and supporting clients in both unionized and non-union environments. Associates and counsel in this office often enjoy direct client contact, meaningful case responsibility, and collaboration with colleagues nationwide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle all aspects of employment litigation, including discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, wage & hour, restrictive covenant, and whistleblower claims.
  • Represent employers in federal and state court proceedings, as well as before administrative agencies.
  • Provide day-to-day advice and counseling on workplace policies, compliance, risk management, training, and dispute avoidance.
  • Support clients in union matters, including collective bargaining, contract administration, and ULP defense, where applicable.
  • Manage multiple cases at varying stages, from intake to resolution, with opportunities for trial and arbitration advocacy.
  • Supervise and mentor junior attorneys, and play a role in business development and client relationship management.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Experience:
    Minimum 5+ years of
    employment litigation experience; traditional labor law exposure (collective bargaining, ULPs, or grievance work) preferred but not required.
  • Admission to practice in
    Texas
    (or eligibility for admission).
  • Strong oral advocacy, negotiation, and client-facing skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal and state employment laws, including Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FMLA, and wage & hour statutes.
  • Ability to manage cases independently, while working collaboratively with senior partners and team members.
