Paralegal - Medical Malpractice and Insurance Defense Litigation

Busy insurance defense and medical malpractice litigation firm seeks an experienced paralegal to assist with cases involving health care, transportation, construction, and business litigation. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in defense litigation, preferably in insurance defense/medical malpractice, and an ability to perform the following tasks:

  • Use Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Use other programs, such as Adobe and ShareFile.
  • Communicate effectively with vendors, clients, witnesses, other counsel, and experts in person, by email, and on the telephone.
  • Obtain medical, radiology, employment, and billing records.
  • Coordinate and schedule mediations, hearings, depositions, client meetings, conference calls, and trial.
  • Prepare notebooks for hearings, depositions, mediations, and trial.
  • Assist in locating experts.
  • Prepare extensive medical summaries and chronologies.
  • Review and organize documents; create and maintain privilege logs; Bates label, redact, and index documents.
  • Assemble and collate exhibits and legal documents to assist with the preparation of motions.
  • Assist with trial preparation and provide trial support.
  • Maintain monthly/yearly billable hours requirements.
  • Assist multiple attorneys with various tasks.
