We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Engineering to lead our engineering teams in developing innovative product experience to help patients with Wellness, Hypertension, Emergency Discharge and Transition of Care. This role requires a strategic leader who can navigate complex stakeholder relationships, oversee technical projects, and drive operational excellence across our engineering functions. The Director will play a critical role in leading the AI powered transformation of these critical worklists. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, excellent business acumen, and the ability to inspire and mentor a seasoned engineering team.

As the Director of Engineering, you will lead with the ability to dig deep with engineers, coach/mentor on technical design where necessary and deliver high business impact on projects of increasing dependencies and ambiguity. You will lead a team of managers & individual contributors in the development of technology that saves lives and improves mental and physical health for millions of people.

Primary Duties:
  • Build a high performing team by hiring and nurturing engineering talent.
  • Strong technical leadership - drive technical solutioning and building roadmaps.
  • Set aggressive and clear goals and remove all roadblocks for the team to achieve them.
  • Working seamlessly and collaboratively with stakeholders across Aledade to achieve business outcomes.
  • Work closely with engineering leaders to drive engineering excellence in our processes and systems.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • BS/BTech (or higher) in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field required.
  • 10+ years of production-level experience as an engineer and technical lead building highly scalable and reliable software.
  • 5+ years of managerial experience building and leading technical engineering teams.
Preferred KSA's:
  • You have experience in attracting, hiring, and coaching world-class engineers including performance management.
  • You have experience in taking ownership of the technology decisions, while delegating and empowering team members.
  • You have experience communicating analysis and establishing confidence among audiences who do not share your disciplinary background or training.
  • You have strong communication and relationship building skills, with experience influencing and aligning multiple stakeholders.

Strongly preferred:

  • Technical Leadership: Proven experience in guiding technical teams and architects, with a strong focus on building scalable platforms.
  • Hands-On Technical Expertise: Experience in full-stack development, particularly with technologies such as Python, JavaScript, AWS, and DevOps practices.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholder groups, including leadership teams and operational departments.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Proficiency in representing engineering interests in key leadership meetings and discussions.
  • Team Management: Ability to lead and mentor a team of seasoned engineers, managing performance and professional growth.
  • Background in Scaling Software Solutions: Proven track record of building and scaling software solutions in fast-paced environments, preferably within traditional software or healthcare tech industries.

  • Sitting for prolonged periods of time. Extensive use of computers and keyboard. Occasional walking and lifting may be required.
