About The Institute for Robotics and Intelligent Machines (IRIM) at the Georgia Institute of Technology
Since its creation in 2013, IRIM has been the focal point of robotics research on the Georgia Tech campus. With more than forty core faculty members and more than two hundred graduate students, IRIM's research portfolio ranges from the theoretical to the applied, from actuation to intelligence, with application areas such as human-robot interaction, medical robotics, human augmentation and prosthetics, autonomous vehicles, locomotion, and factory automation. IRIM is recognized as one of the world's leading interdisciplinary robotics institutes, and its faculty are among the world leaders in the robotics research community.

Job Summary
The Research Engagement Professional cultivates strategic external research partnerships with industry, foundations, and government entities. This role supports multidisciplinary priorities across Georgia Tech research units, including robotics, space, manufacturing, and materials. The incumbent collaborates with faculty and leadership to identify strengths, align partnerships, and steward long-term collaborations.

Responsibilities
Job Duty 1 -
Contribute to the development and execution of partnership strategies aligned with unit priorities, leveraging existing relationships and leadership input.

Job Duty 2 -
In collaboration with unit leadership or sponsored program, identify and pursue funding opportunities from grants, foundations, and corporate sponsors.

Job Duty 3 -
Apply domain-specific knowledge (e.g., robotics, AI, satellite tech, manufacturing, materials) to support and advance research collaborations.

Job Duty 4 -
Support responses to collaborative research opportunities, including federal programs and strategic initiatives.

Job Duty 5 -
Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including industry partners, foundations, and government agencies.

Job Duty 6 -
Represent the unit at external events and communicate the value of Georgia Tech¿s research capabilities.

Job Duty 7 -
Develop outreach materials, reports, and presentations for internal and external audiences.
