Role Overview. The Talent Service Director at Westfall Gold plays a pivotal role in ensuring the success of major donor events by ensuring that the right talent is matched to each client. The Talent Service Director utilizes key skills of relationship building, sales, negotiation, strategic planning, and operational efficiency.   When the Talent Service Director is winning at their role, talent delivers quality performance for the organization at the most economical fee possible.  Excellent relationships are maintained with both clients and talent.

Responsibilities. 

Partner Effectively with Client Service Team (including Senior Consultants, Producers, and ESM's) to Secure the Right Talent for Each Event

  • Update Client Service Team using the project management platform and weekly on the status of the talent for their events.
  • Work with Client Service team to leverage relationships and industry connections for optimal engagement of potential talent choices.
  • Collaborate closely with the Client Service Team to understand the unique requirements and objectives of each client and major donor event.
  • Build proposals to present viable talent options for Westfall Gold clients based on each organization's unique values, budget, and desired outcomes.
  • Support clients to contract the right talent based upon the organization's needed timeline.
  • Act as a liaison between the talent and the client and Client Service Team to ensure alignment and smooth communication.

Build strategic relationships with viable talent options for major donor events

  • Identify, research and cultivate relationships with talent options for each talent category needed generally to fulfill the Westfall Gold model and that specifically align with the event's theme and goals.
  • Educate talent on the Westfall Gold model and understand each talent's priorities and decision making paradigm in order to create the most compelling offers to desirable talent.
  • Attract desirable new talent and maintain excellent relationships with talent, managers and agencies  through personalized outreach and tokens.
  • Follow the process to present viable offers to talent.  Negotiate reduced fees from talent.  Negotiate special client requests with the talent on behalf of the client.
  • Sustain existing relationships with talent through personalized connection and tokens of appreciation, and strategically plan their involvement with the Westfall event cycle.

Ensure Quality Performance and Cost Efficiency:

  • Monitor and assess talent performance through the feedback of onsite staff  to measure their ability to deliver quality performance, the ease of working with them, their ability to understand the purpose of the event  while adhering to contracts and budget constraints
  • Seek cost effective solutions that maintain or improve the quality of the talent Westfall Gold is able to offer to clients.
  • Be in constant communication with the team to understand how the talent did at the event. Documenting what they spoke about, style, and connection with guests. Past evaluations should be part of the proposal for the clients.

Ensure Operational Efficiency of the Talent Contracting Process

  • Contribute to strategic vision for growth of the talent acquisition function.
  • Maintain database of all agents and managers for talent and talent fees.
  • Work alongside Talent Operations Manager to streamline the talent contracting process to minimize turnaround time and reduce costs.
  • Document, file, and communicate all necessary information to the Westfall Gold team for each executed agreement.
  • Work alongside Operations Team to ensure contract accuracy.
  • Create and present reports to company leadership on talent acquisition performance.  Update team on financial status, status of deals, and strategic opportunities weekly.

Increase Revenue of Talent Acquisition

  • Develop and implement strategies to expand the talent service portfolio and increase revenue from talent acquisition both with clients and other nonprofits and businesses..
  • Continuously evaluate and adjust pricing models to ensure competitiveness and profitability.
  • Develop contract opportunities for more events outside major donor events including with existing clients.

Schedule/Travel.  Full time. Available to provide occasional after-hours support. Some travel required.

Qualifications. 

Experience

  • Ability to self-manage, to set and manage deadlines.
  • Talent acquisition experience and an established network in the talent space are not required but beneficial.
  • Sales experience in talent booking or event management is not required but beneficial.
  • Track record of achieving revenue targets and managing budgets effectively.
