Office/Accounting Manager

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Office/Accounting Manager to perform a variety of accounting, bookkeeping and financial tasks. This would include Jefferson Group Inc a multi-divisional company and various other companies. Office/Accounting Manager responsibilities include keeping financial records updated, preparing reports, reconciling accounts and bank statements. You will run accounting software programs to process business transactions, like accounts payable and receivable, payroll, disbursements, expense vouchers, balancing registers and receipts. A successful office/accounting manager should be familiar with all accounting procedures and have a flair for numbers. Ultimately, a successful Office/Accounting Manager will ensure that the company's daily accounting functions run accurately and effectively. We are wanting to hire someone now and we will train. PLEASE DO NOT CALL THE OFFICE.
Responsibilities
- Provide accounting, clerical and human resources support
- Accurately prepare and maintain accounting documents and records
- Prepare bank deposits, general ledger postings and billing statements
- Prepare payroll after verifying employee time
- Reconcile accounts in a timely manner
- Daily enter key data of financial transactions in database such as vendor invoices and generating checks for payments
- Close registers
- Provide assistance and support to company personnel
- Research, track and restore accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies
- Inform management and compile reports/summaries on activity areas for End Of Month and End Of Year
- Function in accordance with established standards, procedures and applicable laws
- Constantly update job knowledge
Skills
- Proven accounting experience, preferably as an Accounts receivable clerk, Accounts payable clerk or Payroll clerk
- Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures
- Competency in MS Office, databases and the accounting software Quickbooks
- Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Aptitude for numbers
- Ability to perform filing and record keeping tasks
- Data entry and word processing skills
- Well organized
- Ability to multitask
- High school degree/GED
- Associate's degree or relevant certification or equivalent experience
