Job Description
This position is temporarily located out of Bethel, CT immediately, with relocation to the greater Atlanta Metro Atlanta at a later date, expected timing summer 2026.
The Primary Functions Of This Role Are To

  • lead development/optimization/modification of robotics & automation solutions to meet evolving Global R&D needs and
  • apply a functional understanding of laboratory automation to create greater value and/or eliminate wasted effort/cost.

Responsibilities
Without supervision the incumbent must be:

  • proficient in developing and executing automation & robotic solutions to achieve desired goals or results. Proficient in performing against multiple projects in parallel. Mentor junior employees on activities execution to exploit new skills and ways of thinking.
  • proficient in analyses (statistical, if needed) of data to uncover new findings from R&D work. Train and develop junior employees.

With broad supervision and coaching, the incumbent is expected to:

  • demonstrate the ability to identify and improve (streamline or increase value) R&D processes or activities being worked to create greater value and/or eliminate wasted effort/cost. With broad supervision, develops ability to transform insights into optimization recommendations for R&D activities being worked.
  • develop insights from laboratory automation and ability to develop key problem statements and fundamental understanding of technical models and/or mechanisms by connecting data sets with current organizational or industry knowledge and applying these to the R&D projects and activities being worked.

With supervision and coaching, the incumbent is expected to develop:

  • insights from "project level" R&D work.
  • develop and communicate fundamental understanding insights from automation projects and apply these insights across R&D activities or disciplines to change and improve the direction of these activities or the way in which these activities are performed.
  • ability to create and deploy efficient strategic "project level" plans for technology delivery and/or capability-building and/or capacity-building to achieve desired goals or results.

Additionally, adherence to and compliance with all Company wide and R&D specific policies and procedures is required.

Qualifications

  • BS/BS degree in Engineering, Laboratory Sciences or related field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience delivering laboratory automation & robotics systems in manufacturing or industrial laboratory environments.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, LabVIEW, C/C++, or MATLAB.
  • Experience with automated test frameworks and data acquisition systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration and documentation skills
