Sat 8:00 am -4:00 pm 30/min break
*Must stay later if there are orders or production to be completed. May leave earlier if all work is done.
6 PTO days, in addition to store being closed on Sundays, New Years Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day
$50,000/year
Deliveries: $20-$35 extra.
Requirements
5+ years of kitchen experience in Mediterranean Cuisine
3+ years of supervising experience
Fluency in Spanish
Food Safety Certification
Vehicle required
Responsibilities
Delegates food preparation assignments to kitchen team
Checks quality of all prepared foods by taste, temperature, portioning and appearance
Order and manage inventory, including food, supplies, and equipment, to ensure that the kitchen is adequately stocked and that waste is minimized using order guides.
Receive deliveries, checking product quality and returning what is not up to quality standards to supplier.
Oversee the preparation and presentation of dishes, ensuring that all menu items are prepared according to established recipes and presentation standards.
Make sure catering orders are being prepared on time.
Maintain kitchen equipment, ensuring that it is in good working condition and that any necessary repairs are made in a timely manner by advising Manager.
Ensure that the kitchen is kept clean and organized, and that all health and safety regulations are followed.
Pull all food needed for daily production from walk-in box and utilize all leftovers.
Maintain and supervise good housekeeping practices in all areas of the kitchen. Strictly enforce the "clean as you go" policy.
Prepare daily production board.
Attend associate meetings, offer suggestions on how to solve associate problems and how to improve the workplace.
Practice safe work habits, wear protective safety equipment.
Ensuring that all food items and products are stored, prepared and served based on the restaurant's recipe, preparation and portion standards
Ordering kitchen materials and ingredients based on the menu and market demand
Supervising food preparation in the kitchen and ensuring that recipes are followed.
Maintaining clean and organized working environments and making sure that employees follow the restaurant's preventive maintenance measures
Maintaining adequate inventory levels and conducting inventories.
If short on ingredients/supplies, must purchase from local stores to keep kitchen stocked.
Consult with Manager to schedule shifts by business hours, days, and occasions and orders by creating work schedules for kitchen staff
Overseeing the training of employees to ensure the safe operation of kitchen equipment and utensils and the proper handling of heavy items and hazardous materials.
Adhere to all health and safety regulations
Inspects the facility, the equipment and machinery in compliance with safety, health and sanitation regulations
Perform reasonable duties that pertain to scope of work as requested by management.
Be able to preform the work, bend and lift up to 50 lbs.
