How you will contribute to our TEAM:   

  • WIP Schedule & Project Accounting
  • Prepare monthly Work in Progress (WIP) schedules for all active construction projects using the percentage-of-completion method. Track project costs, calculate earned revenue, and analyze over/under billing positions. Coordinate with project coordinators on cost-to-complete estimates and explain variances to budget and forecast to management. Monitor job health (profitability) throughout the month and work with the project management team (including project controllers) to understand key drivers.
  • Month-End & Reporting
  • Lead project accounting month-end close procedures and prepare management reports, including project profitability analysis. Support external audits by providing project documentation and WIP schedule explanations. Generate financial reports for management and lenders as needed.
  • Process Improvement 
  • Identify opportunities to improve project accounting processes and procedures. Assist with software implementations and system upgrades. Maintain construction accounting policies and documentation.
Knowledge, Skills, Ability, & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance 
  • 3+ years construction accounting experience 
  • 3+ years hands-on WIP schedule preparation experience 
  • Strong knowledge of percentage-of-completion accounting and ASC 606
  • Proficiency in construction accounting software (Sage, Viewpoint, NAVV, etc.) 
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Leadership and training abilities 
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
