Project Accountant

The Project Accountant (Construction Accountant) will support the Construction Department, reviewing all construction draws, preparing all financial reporting including bank reconciliations for third-party clients, and preparing construction department reporting required by corporate.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Review/audit and approve all construction drawsAssist Construction Cost Analysts' research & resolve issues as neededPrepare construction department reporting required by corporatePerform cash management functions, prepare and post journal entries, and research & resolve issues as neededReview accounts payable activity and prepare accruals as neededPrepare and distribute monthly financial reports and bank reconciliations in accordance with client deadline/requirements while adhering to policies and procedures and maintaining adequate internal controlsAnalyze rehab projects' financial data accuracy to ensure compliance with internal/external audits. Maintain records of all financial data required for audit and tax purposesPrepare audit and/or client related requests and other duties as receivedParticipate in special projects as they ariseTravel Requirement: This position may entail travel, estimated at 5% of work time annually for internal meetings.

Education & Experience

Bachelor's Degree in AccountingMinimum of 4 years of relevant work experienceStrong knowledge of Microsoft Excel.  Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and AdobeDeep understanding of financial conceptsExcellent critical reasoning, quantitative, and analytical skillsMeticulous attention to detail and high level of accuracy, highly organized, able to multi-task, and self-motivatedExcellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
