We are looking for a polished, dependable
Business Support Specialist
to provide technical and customer-facing support for lab and equipment products. This role is ideal for someone who communicates clearly by phone, resolves technical problems calmly, and maintains strong customer relationships while following quality and safety protocols. This is a hybrid onsite role in Portland, Maine.

Required Skills:
- High quality interpersonal skills, with experience working with customers and maintaining good customer relationships. You will have phone skills, with the ability to establish rapport.
- Comfortable speaking with customers about money or challenging conversations, such as declining a request for credit.
- A strong deductive reasoning and analytical skills to resolve issues.
What will your day look like? As a Business Support Specialist you will:
- Respond to customer inquiries via phone and other channels, establish rapport, and resolve issues efficiently.
- Provide technical assistance for products and equipment (installation coordination, configuration, troubleshooting, and user instruction).
- Manage customer order entry, invoicing/billing questions, and related system updates.
- Research customer needs, propose solutions, and coordinate with internal teams to resolve complex problems.
- Maintain accurate technical and service records, document case activity, and communicate status updates to customers.
- Support quality management and compliance procedures in day-to-day work.
- Escalate issues appropriately and help drive continuous improvements in support processes.
You will be a good fit for the Business Support Specialist role if you have:
- High-quality interpersonal skills and comfort speaking with customers by phone; ability to establish rapport quickly.
- Comfort handling sensitive conversations (billing, credit decisions, etc.) with professionalism.
- Strong deductive reasoning and analytical skills to troubleshoot problems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to explain technical issues to both technical and non-technical users.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask.
- Proficiency with personal computers and Microsoft Office.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
