Position Overview

We're seeking a Junior Business Intelligence Analyst to support our data visualization and analytics initiatives. This role will focus on building Power BI dashboards, maintaining data infrastructure, and providing analytical support to various departments as they streamline their processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports to support business decision-making
  • Work with MySQL databases to query, extract, and transform data for analysis and visualization
  • Collaborate with department stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate them into effective data visualizations
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity across all dashboards and reports
  • Document dashboard logic, data sources, and processes for knowledge sharing
  • Assist in identifying opportunities for process improvements through data analysis
  • Participate in data governance initiatives and maintain data quality standards
  • Coordinate with technical contractors on API integrations and data connectivity requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 2+ years of experience with Power BI development
  • Working knowledge of SQL, specifically MySQL
  • Understanding of data modeling and data visualization best practices
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Basic familiarity with REST APIs and technical vendor coordination

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate certification
  • Experience with DAX (Data Analysis Expressions)
  • Familiarity with ETL processes
  • Experience working cross-functionally with multiple departments
  • Basic understanding of process improvement methodologies
