Las Vegas Metropolitan Area, United States The Venetian Resort Las Vegas Full time

Position Overview

The Director – Business Intelligence & Financial Systems is a strategic leader responsible for driving the development, automation, and execution of the organization's business intelligence (BI) and analytics strategy. This role sits at the intersection of enterprise reporting, data analytics, and financial insight, with a primary focus on delivering scalable, data-driven solutions that enable informed decision-making and enhance business performance.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical and analytical background, a passion for data, and a proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams. Expertise in data mining, data analysis, visualization, and the implementation of both strategic and tactical BI solutions — including dashboards, automated reports, and analytics tools — is essential.

Reporting to the VP of Strategy & FP&A, this leader will oversee a team of managers and analysts and work in close partnership with the Executive Director of FP&A, as well as teams across Accounting, IT, and Operations. A key responsibility of the role is serving as a critical link between business stakeholders and the strategy & analytics team — translating business needs into data-driven solutions that advance strategic priorities across the organization.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and management of an enterprise-wide business intelligence strategy, focused on delivering automated, actionable, and visually compelling reporting solutions using Tableau and related BI tools.
  • Collaborate closely with the Executive Director of FP&A to define and deliver reporting and analytics capabilities that support executive decision-making, forecasting, budgeting, and operational performance tracking.
  • Manage a team of analysts and BI professionals in the design, development, and continuous improvement of dashboards, self-service tools, and automated reporting packages.
  • Oversee the consolidation and automation of fragmented reports across departments into standardized, governed, and user-friendly Tableau dashboards.
  • Own and enhance the BI and reporting infrastructure, including toolsets such as Tableau, Cognos, Alteryx, and data platforms like Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and SQL.
  • Lead initiatives to increase data literacy and self-service capabilities across finance and operational teams.
  • Drive the automation of recurring reports and manual processes using tools such as Alteryx, Python, SQL, and VBA to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Partner with Accounting, IT, and Enterprise Analytics to ensure data consistency, alignment of metrics, and integration across systems and platforms.
  • Collaborate with the FP&A team to deliver scalable, repeatable reporting frameworks that align with forecasting models and long-term planning initiatives.
  • Serve as a strategic thought partner to leadership on how data, systems, and analytics can drive business value, streamline operations, and support strategic objectives.
  • Ensure data integrity and governance across BI platforms and reporting environments.
  • Support and enhance secondary systems and tools including TM1 and Cognos, with a focus on their integration into the broader BI strategy.
  • Manage and develop a high-performing team with both technical and financial acumen; promote a culture of accountability, innovation, and professional growth.
  • Stay current on emerging trends, tools, and best practices in business intelligence, reporting automation, and financial systems to continuously improve the enterprise data ecosystem.
