We are a federal contractor delivering complex construction projects with a focus on precision, compliance, and accountability. Our work requires strict financial oversight — including certified payroll, prevailing wage compliance, and detailed job cost reporting.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Construction Accountant with strong federal contracting background to manage payroll, job cost tracking, and compliance reporting. This is a full-time, Monday through Friday, on-site position where your accounting expertise will be central. In addition, you'll support administrative and HR functions as needed, particularly during periods with lighter accounting workload.

What You'll Do

  • Payroll & Certified Payroll: Weekly payroll, prevailing wage compliance, certified payroll submissions, workers' comp entries, tax deposits, quarterly filings, and reimbursements.
  • Construction Accounting: Accounts payable, subcontractor reconciliations, lien releases, invoice and credit card tracking, job cost allocation, WIP reporting, and journal entries (depreciation, prepaid insurance, etc.).
  • Compliance: Ensure accuracy in federal contracting requirements (Davis-Bacon, certified payroll, documentation standards).
  • Admin/HR Responsibilities: Employee onboarding, insurance enrollments, SIMPLE IRA coordination, contract administration support, fleet management, and general office duties as workload requires.

What We're Looking For

  • 2+ years of accounting
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of prevailing wage and certified payroll reporting
  • Strong organizational skills, detail orientation, and ability to juggle multiple projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $75,000 – $125,000 (DOE)
