A Successful Project Estimator For DD Ford Will:

  • Build thorough, accurate, and clearly defined budgets and specifications in collaboration with and under the oversight of our Senior Estimator
  • Collaborate with architects, designers, and clients to build detailed scopes of work
  • Collaborate with subcontractors and vendors on RFP's to develop complete scopes of work and compare budgets to build complete project costs
  • Build relationships with qualified subcontractors, in order to develop competitive pricing compatible with the company's strategy.
  • Participate as a key member of the sales team, interacting with clients and architects to secure future work.
  • Support the Project Management staff as they manage the budget throughout the construction process.
  • Refine the estimating systems and procedures to improve future budgets and control costs.

Desired Skills or Experience:

  • Bachelors in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or related
  • Must be competent in reading blue print/construction drawings to build detailed project scopes
  • Proficient with MS Office, particularly proficient in Excel
  • Experience completing take-offs in Blue Beam, Procore, Timberline, or similar project platforms
  • Keys to success in this role include strong data analysis, attention to detail, thorough researcher, great communicator, cross-functional team-work, ability to hit deadlines, critical thinking
