Overview

Valverde Construction Inc is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our accounting team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing the company's accounts payable processes, ensuring accurate and timely payments, maintaining compliance with financial policies, and supporting overall financial operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced organization that values precision, efficiency, and teamwork. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting skills, experience with various financial software, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Responsibilities

  • Process and verify invoices, expense reports, and purchase orders.
  • Reconcile accounts payable transactions regularly to maintain data integrity and identify discrepancies promptly.
  • Manage vendor relationships by resolving invoice discrepancies, responding to inquiries, and maintaining up-to-date vendor records.
  • Assist with audits by providing detailed documentation of accounts payable activities and supporting schedules as needed.

Experience

  • Proven experience in accounts payable functions within a construction accounting environment.
  • Strong understanding of subcontracts, lien releases and joint payments.
  • Proficiency in construction accounting software such as Sage, Viewpoint, Etc.
  • Familiarity with compliance standards including SOX controls and GAAP guidelines.
  • Excellent analysis skills for account reconciliation and identifying discrepancies quickly.
  • Ability to perform high-volume data entry accurately using 10-key typing skills under tight deadlines.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $ $30.00 per hour
