The General, a subsidiary of Sentry Insurance, is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused professional to join our team. In this role, you will serve as a key point of contact in our call center, delivering prompt and professional support to customers and internal teams by efficiently handling incoming questions and assisting with the accurate processing of Claims. Your strong organizational skills and commitment to service excellence will contribute directly to the success of our Claims operations. This role will be staffed in our Nashville, TN office.

What You'll Do

Our Associate Claims Support team supports,

  • Process incoming claims mail including sort, prep, scan, and index mail. Processes claims services including file distribution, issuing claim payments and entering documentation into the claims system.

  • Adhere to claims requirements including corporate claim standards, company claim bulletins, code of ethics and Unfair Claim Practice Acts.

  • Respond to incoming calls via the claims support phone line including: taking around 110 calls per day, routing callers to the appropriate party; answering questions and performing other administrative tasks to assist the caller. Updates information within the claim system.

  • Verify claim payments to financial institutions.

  • Serve as a liaison for the Claims Department.

  • Provides other support for claims activities as needed.

What it Takes

  • Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support, or service.

  • Basic knowledge of claims support policies and procedures

  • Solid knowledge and demonstrated proficiency in various PC software applications.

  • Keyboarding/typing ability at 35 wpm.

  • Ability to speak with bilingual customers is beneficial
