This is a fully remote (Must live in the U.S.) position.

Position Summary :

We are seeking a highly skilled Network & Systems Automation Engineer to design, build, and maintain automation solutions that enhance and support our critical network and systems infrastructure. This role bridges software development, systems administration, and network engineering, empowering our team through automation, intelligent tooling, and data-driven insights.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of networking, systems, and automation, delivering solutions that streamline operations, improve reliability, and solve complex technical challenges.

What You'll Do:

Infrastructure & Systems

  • Deploy, manage, and maintain virtual machines in Xen Orchestra.
  • Administer Linux servers, including configuration, monitoring, and system-level automation.
  • Support infrastructure stability, performance, and scalability.
  • Enforce and maintain security controls across critical infrastructure systems.

Automation & Tooling

  • Design, develop, and maintain custom internal applications and automation pipelines.
  • Build automated troubleshooting, alerting, and operational tooling to accelerate issue detection and resolution.
  • Gather and process telemetry, metrics, and configuration data from diverse network and system devices.

API & Integration

  • Develop and maintain custom APIs and services to automate workflows.
  • Integrate automation pipelines with network and business systems via RESTful APIs and webhooks.

Collaboration & Innovation

  • Work closely with network engineering teams to identify automation opportunities and requirements.
  • Deliver scalable, reliable automation to streamline provisioning, configuration, and operational workflows.
  • Think critically and develop creative solutions to complex technical challenges in a fast-paced environment.

What You'll Bring:

  • Proven experience in a similar role
  • 3+ years of hands-on application development experience with Python, PHP, JavaScript, Jinja2 templating, and SQL, including application-level projects.
  • Solid experience working with databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis, including schema design, query optimization, and data modeling.
  • Hands-on experience with automation tools/frameworks (e.g., Ansible).
  • Strong understanding of networking protocols, infrastructure, and architectures.
  • Experience developing, integrating, and consuming RESTful APIs.
  • Experience setting up webhooks and event-driven automation workflows.
  • Familiarity with Linux system administration and scripting.
  • Familiarity with workflow and knowledge management platforms, such as Notion.
  • Familiarity with workflow automation platforms, such as Pipedream.
  • Experience automating Juniper (MX/QFX) or Nokia (7750 SR / Lightspan GPON/NG-PON) platforms.
  • Experience with Xen Orchestra / Xen virtualization ecosystems.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD platforms and DevOps practices.
  • Knowledge of Git and collaborative development workflows.
  • Experience with databases for storing telemetry, state, or automation metadata.
  • Exposure to event-driven architectures and messaging frameworks.
  • Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to rapidly evolving requirements.
