Network Systems Engineer

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Network Systems Engineer to join our dynamic company. The Network Systems Engineer is responsible for developing, configuring, and maintaining the IT department's strategic road map, ensuring that information technology capabilities continually support the company's goals and objectives. This includes configuration, maintenance, and securing IT infrastructure including server and database environments for both internal and customer domains. Additionally, the Network Systems Engineer investigates and resolves technical issues related to the IT infrastructure.
Duties
- Manage the installation, configuration, and support of application and database infrastructure in cloud environments
- Manage the configuration and support of network functionality including access to environments and VPNs
- Establish and ensure the security of all system and application environments
- Design and oversee the backup and data recovery process for server and data environments
- Analyze and optimize server and database performance
- Execute database queries and generate database reports to support investigation
- Provide internal and customer technical support and problem resolution
- Engage in requirements gathering and process improvement discussions with current and potential customers to ensure business objectives are being met
- Review application requirements for potential improvements or enhancements from an infrastructure perspective
- Document application requirements in approved software management software
- Maintain technical documentation such as server setup and configuration guides
- Oversee the company's asset management system
- Direct team members in meeting client and company objectives
- Determine short and long-term resource requirements
- Communicate in a clear, concise manner via verbal and written form with department employees and other groups
- Develop and maintain an effective department through the selection, training, motivation, and review of staff
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Strong experience managing Windows Server environments
- Strong experience installing, configuring, and managing Microsoft SQL Server, and using its tools to investigate functional or performance issues (i.e. SQL Server Management Studio, Activity Monitor, Query Analyzer, SQL Server Profiler)
- Strong experience installing, configuring, and managing Java web application servers such as WildFly/JBoss Server
- Strong experience with configuring and managing application environments hosted in Amazon Web Services (AWS), including EC2, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, IAM, Cognito, S3, DynamoDB, API Gateway, and Lambda.
- Strong experience with configuring and ensuring the security of application and database servers
- Strong experience with configuring, managing, and securing networking infrastructure and VPNs (such as OpenVPN)
- Experience with administering Windows Active Directory
- Experience with administering Office 365
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100, $110,000.00 per year
