Duties

  • Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges
  • Handle cash, credit/debit card transactions, and other payment methods with precision and integrity
  • Provide friendly and professional customer service by greeting shoppers, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries
  • Promote store promotions and upsell additional products or services to enhance customer experience and sales
  • Uphold excellent phone etiquette when handling inquiries or assisting customers remotely
  • Support team members through supervising experience when needed and collaborating effectively in a team environment

Requirements

  • Previous cashiering experience in a retail or grocery store setting is preferred
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with diverse customers in bilingual environments (English/Spanish or other languages) is a plus
  • Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately and performing retail math calculations
  • Knowledge of POS systems and cash handling procedures to ensure transaction accuracy
  • Demonstrated customer service skills with a positive attitude and problem-solving mindset
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, walk throughout the store, and lift moderate loads as required
  • Excellent phone etiquette for remote or in-store customer interactions
