Job Description Summary:

Manages small to medium sized projects assigned under limited direction. May also lead sub-teams for larger projects/programs. Projects may impact multiple functions in Special Programs and Clinical Trials and typically has moderate impact on the corporation/division. This position must link the project activities, milestones, and deliverables to the desired benefit and value that needs to be achieved to ensure proper project plan updates or changes are applied to achieve the overall value.

Job Responsibilities (listed in order of importance and/or time spent)

  • Manages small to medium size projects under limited direction. May also lead sub-teams for larger projects/programs.
  • Establishes and monitors project requirements, priorities, and deadlines. 
  • Manages a project plan that involves a small number of team members (ex: 10 or less). 
  • Ensures quality and timeliness of project results. Ensures established timelines are adhered to based upon project requirements.
  • Support and monitor activities, gather data, consensus, and recommendations to support the decision-making process, or formulating the business case of identifying the value of an initiative
  • Oversee and prioritize assigned project tasks, timelines and project plans and communicates status to all affected stakeholders
  • Works with management (if necessary) to drive resolution of project conflicts.
  • Manages projects from inception to completion.
  • Manages activities of assigned project team. Prepares standard and ad hoc management reports and presentations for assigned projects including but not limited to MBR/QBRs for identified customers. 
  • May contribute/provide support to larger projects.
  • Communicates project status to team and business owners throughout the duration of the assignment and post implementation to make certain all impacted stakeholders have an understanding of risks, issues and activities.

Basic Education and/or Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2 years project management experience

OR

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • 5 years project management experience.

Basic Qualifications

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
  • Experience presenting and reporting on project plans to appropriate stakeholders, executives and senior management.
  • Experience applying project management methodologies and practices, including developing a project plan, including charter, scope, project management approach and management plans, such as the statement of work, cost estimates, schedule, etc.
  • Experience working on cross-functional teams and indirectly managing teams across business units.
  • Experience establishing & maintaining relationships with individuals at various levels of the organization, such as peers, internal/external stakeholders, business partners, senior level managers.
  • Experience resolving conflicts within a team as issues arise.
  • Strong written and verbal communication to various audiences (work group, team, company management, prospective acquisitions, external clients)
  • Experience utilizing project management software and other standard project management tools.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint

Travel Requirements:  (if required)

Willing to travel up to 20% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).

Preferred Qualifications & Interests (PQIs)

  • Knowledge of business practices as related to Special Programs and Clinical Trials
  • Certification as a Project Manager as granted by PMI
  • Documented PM Training Class (PMI endorsement preferred)

Salary to be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.

Pay Range is $68,215.48-$113,677.46
