Administration Intern

The Administrative Intern provides support to hospital departments by assisting with administrative, operational, and project-based tasks. This role offers exposure to healthcare management, hospital operations, and patient support functions while developing professional skills in a dynamic healthcare environment. Duties and Responsibilities:- Collect, organize, and analyze data related to department operations or performance metrics.
- Support department leaders with project coordination, meeting preparation, and follow-up tasks.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, patient experience, or workflow.
- Shadow managers or department heads to gain insight into hospital operations and administrative decision-making.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient and hospital information in compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies.
- Help coordinate internal communications, or events, as needed for staff.
Currently enrolled in a Master's program in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health or a related field. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills.
Physical Demands:These include stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, grasping, pulling, pushing, standing, carrying and lifting of light loads (up to 35 lb.), as necessary.
