The individual in this position is responsible for assessing loan quality in accordance with established underwriting guidelines, loan documentation, and other pertinent information within the closed loan file. Duties and Responsibilities

Candidate must be able to:

· Conduct a thorough re-underwriting of loan files to confirm that the initial decisions are consistent with current quality control standards.

· Verify accuracy and completeness of origination documents.

· Review property appraisals to verify valuation and ensure compliance with eligibility requirements.

· Confirm reviews meet acceptable risk parameters.

· Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, as well as investor and agency standards.

· Conduct underwriting reviews for loans selected in accordance with policy guidelines.

· Effectively communicate decisions and cultivate relationships with stakeholders.

· Identify and address critical and non-critical issues.

· Discuss audit results with and provide loan quality feedback to VP of Quality Control and Compliance Officer.

· Conduct quality assurance evaluations on loans that meet approved criteria.

· Identify root causes of deficiencies and weaknesses.

Required Experience

· Possesses more than four years of experience in mortgage underwriting in accordance with federal and agency guidelines and procedures, including FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, and USDA.

· Demonstrated expertise in underwriting non-QM loans

· Proven ability to deliver exceptional customer service and effective communication skills

· Demonstrated proficiency in analytical reasoning and sound decision-making abilities

· Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment

· Demonstrates outstanding attention to detail and effectively manages multiple tasks concurrently

Minimum Daily Production Standards

Produce at least 10 units daily; report KPIs each day.

Reporting Relationships

Direction Received: Receives general guidance and direction from VP of Quality Control and Compliance Officer

Direction Given: No authority or supervision of others

Status for timekeeping requirements

Non-exempt timesheet for tracking sick and vacation accruals. Employees are required to report to work by 8:30 am local time each day.
