JOB SUMMARY

The People Development Specialist is a subject matter expert responsible for independently managing and resolving sensitive information related to HAD and AEN investigations. This role exercises sound judgment and applies deep understanding of company policies and employment practices to investigate concerns, recommend appropriate actions, and support a fair and consistent employee experience. In addition to owning complex casework, the Specialist provides policy interpretation, and partners with HRBP's in the administrative investigation process. The ideal candidate demonstrates discretion, professionalism, and strategic thinking in a fast-paced, confidential environment.

JOB DUTIES

  • Lead the intake, investigation, and resolution of HAD and AEN cases, conducting thorough evaluations of complex and sensitive information. Apply independent judgment in analyzing findings and formulating policy-aligned recommendations; and executing actions once approved.
  • Oversee the People Development team inbox, applying critical thinking and policy interpretation to address or delegate inquiries.
  • Serve as the key point of contact for APS-related inquiries, leveraging knowledge to provide guidance, resolve issues independently when appropriate, and determine when escalation or cross-functional consultation is necessary.
  • Oversee the execution of IP suspensions and reinstatements, ensuring decisions align with company practice. Evaluate unique case circumstances and consult with the People Development Manager when deviation from standard protocol is needed.
  • Act as a strategic partner during administrative investigations, attending as a neutral HR representative and ensuring documentation is complete, accurate, and aligned with investigatory best practices.
  • Safeguard sensitive and confidential information, applying sound judgment and professional discretion to manage complex employee relations matters with integrity and consistency.
  • Ability to work flexible and/or extended hours, if needed, to meet the job requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in an HR Coordinator/Assistant/Specialist role.
  • HR Certification (SHRM-CP, PHR) a plus.
  • Proficiency in Workday, SharePoint, and the MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
  • Knowledge of HR practices, policies, and employment law.
  • Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution skills with a proactive approach.
  • Strong ability to collaborate in a team-oriented environment; demonstrates flexibility and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with employees at all levels.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and results-oriented with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work flexible/extended hours as needed due to job requirements.

The incumbent typically works in an office environment and uses a computer, telephone and other office equipment as needed to perform duties. The noise level in the work environment is typical of that of an office. Incumbent may encounter frequent interruptions throughout the workday. The employee is regularly required to sit, talk, or hear; frequently required to use repetitive hand motion, handle or feel, and to stand, walk, reach, bend or lift up to 20 pounds.
