Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist who has experience using Sage Construction Accounting. This position can be full or part time depending on the applicant's interest and skills. This is a small team that needs a strong payroll specialist to run weekly payroll. The ideal candidate should be a team playe, great attitude and ready to jump in to help iur small office. You will be responsible for managing payroll processes accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory standards. The Payroll Specialist will play a vital role in maintaining precise payroll records, benefits administration, and supporting overall financial operations within our organization. Must have experience with certified payroll and union benefit administration.

Responsibilities

  • Process payroll using Sage.
  • Manage payroll data entry and ensure data integrity across multiple platforms
  • Reconcile accounts and perform general ledger reconciliation to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Prepare journal entries related to payroll transactions and benefits administration
  • AP/AR depending on hours of position.
  • Maintain compliance with tax regulations and prepare necessary reports for governmental agencies
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including deductions and contributions
  • Support accounts payable and receivable functions as needed within the finance department
  • Assist with audits related to payroll, benefits, and accounting records

Qualifications

  • Proven experience with construction payroll management
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles including double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, debits & credits, and general ledger accounting
  • Familiarity with financial software like Sage Accounting
  • Understanding of tax regulations related to payroll processing and benefits administration
  • Experience with data entry accuracy (10 key typing skills) and account reconciliation processes
  • Knowledge of human resources systems (HRIS) and benefits administration procedures
  • Ability to analyze financial data effectively and maintain meticulous records
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
