Job Description
The Accounts Receivable Clerk is responsible for processing transactions accurately and in a timely manner to ensure deadlines are met for financial reporting. This position supports and reports directly to the Controller.
Responsibilities
- Process credit applications along with necessary documents including tax exempt certificates and provide the package to the Controller once credit inquiry responses are received for a customer.
- Invoice parts shipments and services performed, process credit card payments, and request, process, and track advance payments.
- Enter and maintain customer information in accounting software.
- Enter cash receipts, process deposits, and update bank reconciliation spreadsheets.
- Manage collections and notify customers of credit limit issues.
- Keep all assigned tracking spreadsheets up to date.
- Become an expert on ERP software functions of assigned areas and learn to utilize additional features.
- Report any collections issues and billing discrepancies.
- Conduct quarterly sales commission analysis.
- Provide backup support for Accounts Payable.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Controller.
Essential Skills
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Strong oral, phone, and written English communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Ability to manage varying frequencies of incoming requests and tasks by reassessing priorities to maximize company objectives.
- Maintain professional and positive working relationships with all internal and external contacts.
- Strong 'team-player' work ethic.
- Efficiency in managing priorities and workload.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- 1+ years of Accounts Receivable experience.
- Strong proficiency in Collections and Cash Receipts.
- Experience with Great Plains software is highly ideal.
- No degree required.
- Experience in billing collections, invoice processing, and accounts payable is beneficial
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Branford, CT.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $ $29.00/hr.
