Connecticut Orthopaedics Specialists is hiring full-time OR RN positions to staff the expansion of our surgery center in Branford, CT. Position Requirements:

Holds a current state of Connecticut license as a Registered NurseHolds a current certification in basic life supportHas a minimum of (2) years of OR nursing experience; orthopedics a plusPossess a good command of the English language, both oral and writtenAbility to meet the needs of the nursing service as demanded by the schedule, especially when overtime hours and time changes are necessaryAbility to work well with surgeons, employees, patients and coworkers alikeAbility to work safely and efficiently in a fast paced work environmentWill pass a criminal and medical fraud background check - requiredExperience working in a surgery center - a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ability to correlate clinical data with patient's medical and nursing are
  • Demonstrate high standard of communication with patients, family members, and all members of our healthcare team
  • Assess, plan, evaluate and ensure the implementation of the patient's care to achieve identified outcomes and deliver safe patient care according to facility policy and procedure
  • Assume an active role in the provision of quality nursing care for patients receiving care
  • Maintains and assesses their own clinical expertise with clinical practices
  • Documents all patient information according to established standards of care, with regard for determined policy and procedure
  • Completes documentation to ensure availability of accurate and relevant information to accordance with surgery center standards
  • Demonstrates expertise with infection control, engaging standard and universal precautions as trained or instructed
  • Demonstrated knowledge and adherence to facility safety standards and requirements as well as to those procedures that ensure a safe working environment

Experience/Educational requirements:  

High School Graduate or equivalent.Current state of Connecticut licensure as a Registered Nurse. Current certification in Basic Life Support preferredEvidence of continuing education preferredMinimum three (2) years of Operating Room nursing experience.
