Position Summary

We are hiring a Controller & In-House Accountant to lead all accounting, cost tracking, and financial operations. This is a key role that will support the CEO and leadership team with accurate reporting, data-driven decision support, and internal controls. The ideal candidate has experience in inventory-based or product-driven businesses, deep knowledge of QuickBooks, and the ability to work closely with operations and production.

We are looking for someone who is excited to use and help refine internal AI systems to improve reporting, forecasting, and operational clarity.

Key ResponsibilitiesAccounting & Financial Oversight

• Manage full-cycle accounting using 
  QuickBooks (Online or Desktop)
• Oversee 
  accounts payable and receivable

, bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance
- Prepare and analyze monthly 
P&L statements, cash flow reports, and balance sheets
- Collaborate with external CPAs and tax professionals on filings, compliance, and audits
- Maintain audit-ready documentation and financial controls

Inventory & Cost Tracking

• Monitor 
  COGS

, raw material costs, and finished goods margins
- Reconcile purchase orders and inventory usage with production and procurement
- Work cross-functionally to ensure accurate and real-time cost tracking

Budgeting & Forecasting

• Support annual and quarterly 
  budget planning
• Create rolling forecasts and cost analysis models to help guide growth decisions
• Provide financial modeling support for new projects and client onboarding

AI System Integration & Workflow Efficiency

• Use 
  Formology Lab's internal AI tools

to streamline reporting, improve inventory tracking, and reduce manual reconciliation
- Participate in feedback loops with the internal AI development team to refine tools based on accounting needs
- Help automate and document repeatable financial processes for scale

What We're Looking For

• 3–5+ years of accounting or controller-level experience in an inventory-heavy or product-based business
• Expert-level QuickBooks knowledge (Online or Desktop), including COGS, job costing, and vendor management
• Strong proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets for financial modeling and reporting
• Experience collaborating with operations, manufacturing, or logistics teams
• Comfort working in a high-growth, tech-enabled environment
• Experience using or testing 
  AI or data automation tools
